PEGS Hockey Club is seeking expressions of interest for the role of VL1 Head Coach
for the 2027 season. The role will involve leading the team through pre-season
preparation, in-season training, match-day performance and player development, with
the aim of building on the club’s strong foundations and continuing to develop a positive,
competitive and inclusive team environment.

Applicants are invited to provide a brief outline of their coaching experience, relevant
qualifications and approach to coaching. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a
formal interview with the relevant PEGSHC coaching selection panel at a mutually
convenient time.

Selection Criteria

• Demonstrated coaching experience at a senior, high-performance, representative
  or comparable club level.
• Ability to develop and implement a clear pre-season and in-season training
  program.
• Strong technical and tactical knowledge of hockey, including game planning, skill
  development and match-day management.
• Capacity to lead, motivate and communicate effectively with players, assistant
  coaches, team managers and club representatives.
• Commitment to player development, team culture, selection integrity and the
  broader objectives of PEGSHC.
• Availability to attend scheduled training sessions, match days and reasonable
  planning or review meetings throughout the season.
• Willingness to work constructively with the club, coaching panel and relevant
  section heads.
• Current Working With Children Check (WWCC), or willingness to obtain one
  before commencing in the role.
• Any relevant coaching accreditation, playing experience or other qualifications
  that support the application.

Availability and Expectations

Expectations regarding pre-season, in-season training, match-day attendance and
communication will be discussed during the interview process. Applicants should
disclose any known conflicts that may affect their ability to attend regular training
sessions, games or other key coaching commitments.

Expressions of interest should be submitted by 30 September 2026 to allow sufficient
time for the club to review applications and interview selected candidates.
